Care of Your Candle
To prevent your candle from shedding sand, you may spray the outside of your candle very hard with a garden hose or your kitchen sink sprayer. This will not alter your candle's appearance. The first time you light your candle, you should let it burn for at least an hour.
General Candle Safety
NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE BURNING UNATTENDED!!!
Always chose a place that is safe for a candle to burn. DO NOT place your candle in a draft. DO NOT allow children to handle it. NEVER PICK THE SAND CANDLE UP OR MOVE IT WHILE IT IS BURNING AS THIS COULD RESULT IN THE CANDLE COLLAPSING. DO NOT drop matches or other foreign matter into the candle. DO NOT sit your candle close to a burning fireplace. When the candle has burned down so the wick is hard to reach, tilt the candle to easily light it. If you have your candle under a ceiling fan, it will not burn properly.
Refilling Your Candle in the Shop
We can refill your candle for you and make it just like new. We do, however, reserve the right to refuse to refill your candle or to charge more for the refill, if you have not followed our instructions or abused the candle in other ways. It will help us to refill your candle if you do not attempt to dig the charred wick out of it. YOU MAY REFILL THE CANDLE YOURSELF. We have refill kits available in any of the wide variety of scents we carry. Instructions for using the kits are provided on a separate sheet. You nay place a votive on the candle rather than refilling it, but be sure to remove any metal from the bottom of the votive.
However, by purchasing our refill kits, you will be able to refill your other candles.

In general it takes about an hour to refill a candle. The time may vary depending on the number of candles you have, any other refills scheduled, or by a busy store. You may leave your candle and pick it up later or on another day. If the candlemakers Roger and Vickie are out of the shop, you can leave your candle and they will call you when it is ready. You may always contact the store at 817-626-3000 to check on the status of your refills.
